Los geht's...
Heute startete das Abenteuer Auslandssemester! Früh morgens ging es mit meinen Studienkollegen Romi & Thomas - die beiden könnt ihr übrigens im "Erasmuscast" auf Spotify verfolgen - vom Flughafen Wien los Richtung Brüssel und von dort aus nach Mechelen. Das Beziehen der Wohnungen und ein kurzer Besuch am Campus der Thomas More Universität, um die Studentenausweise abzuholen, stand am Programm.
Auch ein Abstecher ins Rathaus blieb uns nicht erspart um uns zu registrieren, aber wie es die Bürokratie so will, mussten wir dafür einen Termin zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt ausmachen. Da wir somit sowieso schon am zentralen Platz der Stadt, am "Grote Markt" waren, haben wir uns gleich ein bisschen umgeschaut und einen leckeren Kaffee gegönnt um anschließend noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten in der Einkaufsstraße "Bruul" zu besorgen. So konnten wir schon ein paar Eindrücke unserer Heimat für die nächsten Monate sammeln...
The adventure semester abroad started today! Early in the morning, me and my fellow students Romi & Thomas - by the way, you can follow them in the "Erasmuscast" on Spotify - left Vienna Airport for Brussels and from there to Mechelen. We moved into the apartments and we also had to go to the campus of Thomas More University to pick up the student cards.
Even a short visit to the city hall was mandatory, but due to the bureaucracy, we had to make an appointment at a later date for the registration. Since we were already at the central place of the city, at the "Grote Markt", we looked around a little bit and had a delicious coffee. Afterwards we walked through the shopping street "Bruul" to get some small things. So we were already able to collect some impressions of our home for the next months...
